NN: You’ve trained as a psychiatric nurse and also studied naturopathy — how have those experiences shaped what you believe “mental resilience” truly means?

ART: For me, resilience is being prepared to be vulnerable — to face the hard stuff with grace. Life isn’t always beautiful, easy, or convenient, but I try to make an effort to see the beauty in the world around me. It’s really a shift in mindset, an action you take into your own hands. As a nurse, I’ve seen resilience in many forms, and I’ve witnessed it firsthand in people.

NN: When you began your wellness journey, what did you notice was missing in the supplements available for mood support and emotional balance?

ART: When I was working full-time as a nurse, I was also a new mom. I don’t know if it was the chicken or the egg, but I hit a wall — burnout. It wasn’t that I wasn’t happy or grateful, but motherhood shifted so much in me. It brought me closer to my true self, to my values, to wanting authenticity and clearer boundaries. It was a real turning point.

What I was looking for was a supplement that could support me in that new direction — something that combined it all: adaptogens, vitamins, omega fatty acids, and sleep support. At the time, I had to search for all these ingredients all over the internet, which felt too complicated. That experience inspired me to create three supplements to support stress and burnout — and I quickly realized how many others were on the same path and needed exactly that kind of support.

NN: For people trying to support their mental health, how important are clean, organic, whole-plant ingredients? What difference have you seen when using them versus synthetic or low-quality ones?

ART: When you consume something, it starts in the taste buds — it’s a whole process. When you take in something that tastes alive, with real ingredients, your body automatically absorbs it better, and you feel the effect much quicker than with synthetic or low-quality products. If I don’t feel a difference, it simply doesn’t stay in my routine. We all live such high-paced lives, and we don’t have time for things that don’t work. That’s why I trust Neo.

NN: Among herbs like St. John’s Wort, Valerian, Lemon Balm, Holy Basil, and mushrooms like Reishi or Shiitake, which ones have most impacted your own mood or stress, and in what ways?

ART: Ashwagandha is one of my favorites — it has supported me a lot in stressful periods. I also reach for Lion’s Mane and Reishi when I feel I need more grounding and support.

NN: Are there clinical studies or traditional knowledge that you’ve drawn on when choosing or recommending specific herbs and botanicals for mood support?

ART: Both. As a nurse, I really value science and clinical research. And as a naturopathy student, I also look to traditional systems like Ayurveda and Taoist medicine. I believe the combination is where true healing happens — we can’t limit ourselves on this path of healing.

NN: How much does daily lifestyle — sleep, community, nature, movement, breathwork — matter in combination with herbs and supplements for maintaining mental health?

ART: It’s all combined. People often ask me if a supplement can really change your state of mind, and my experience is that it depends on how you tune in to yourself. You can take supplements, work out, do sleep training — but what really matters is how your body responds and absorbs life. If you can’t feel yourself before, you may not feel yourself after either.

In our part of the world, where we’re often disconnected from nature and from ourselves, we lose some of that deep strength and intuition. For example, I notice a big difference if I take my supplements rushing out the door versus in a quiet moment after dinner. The body needs space to receive and absorb — it’s about creating that reconnection, not just the “go, go, go.”

NN: Can you tell us about a time you were struggling mentally or emotionally, and which rituals, ingredients, or supports helped you the most?

ART: Lemon Balm and Ashwagandha, Lion’s Mane, flower remedies, weekly acupuncture, and breathwork supported me a lot. Healing has been about layers of transformation. I’ve always been spiritual — growing up on an organic farm surrounded by nature and animals gave me a strong intuition. Life will always push you out of your comfort zone, and returning to yourself is where true healing starts.

NN: Community often comes up in wellness work — what role has community played in your healing or maintaining mental balance?

ART: Community means togetherness. In a busy life with kids, work, and everything going on, it’s easy to feel divided or live very individually. For me, being with others can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I’ve been practicing how to be in community while also staying true to myself. Something really rich comes from being together while still being you.

On platforms like IG, I’ve found so many like-minded people. Some say social media can be limiting, but I experience it quite the opposite — we share ideas, knowledge, feelings, and updates. It feels tender, inspiring, and meaningful. Friendships today grow without limits.

NN: We believe mood is multifaceted — mental, emotional, physical, social. How can a supplement work with those other aspects rather than replace them?

ART: A supplement can kickstart a process in the body — I think of it like rings in the water. A vibration that begins and then continues on many levels, even on a subconscious level.

NN: What do you hope people feel or experience when they use a mood support formula? What are the subtle signs or small shifts you want them to notice first?

ART: A sense of ease — everyone deserves that. Subtle shifts like a steadier mood, a softer nervous system, and more presence in daily life.

NN: What made you decide to become an ambassador for neoNutritions — what feels different or meaningful to you about our brand and its approach to wellness?

ART: I tried Neo myself before becoming an ambassador. What drew me in was first the taste, then the feeling in my body when I consumed it, and also the visual world the brand creates. The respect and the way Neo combines Ayurveda, ancient medicine, and anthroposophy really resonated with me. From the very first cup, I felt my blood sugar stabilize and my energy shift. For me, Neo is not something you take occasionally just to feel better — it vibrates my cells from the inside out, so I can keep vibrating in life.
